Lizzo, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is an American rapper, singer, and actress. She came to Houston, Texas, with her family when she was eleven years old. After finishing her schooling, she traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she began her career in hip-hop music.
Lizzo released two studio albums before signing with Nice Life Recording Company and Atlantic Records, Lizzobangers (2013) and Big Grrrl Small World (2015). Coconut Oil, her first major-label EP, was released in 2016.
Cuz I Love You (2019), Lizzo’s third studio album, catapulted her into the mainstream spotlight, debuting at number four on the US Billboard 200 list. Popular hits from the album include “Juice” and “Tempo.” The album’s deluxe edition contained “Truth Hurts,” a 2017 single that became a viral sleeper hit two years later.
It topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, making Lizzo the female rapper with the longest-running solo hit. Her 2016 single “Good as Hell” also charted, hitting the top ten on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.
Is Lizzo Sick?
Lizzo, who was slated to perform in Montreal, Canada, recently canceled due to illness.
Lizzo claimed that while a cold usually improves with a shower, food, and medicine, this was not the case this time. She wore a black face mask and a blanket in the video.
Although Lizzo was not formally diagnosed, she suspected she had the flu. She expressed her disappointment about canceling the event and apologized to her Montreal fans.
It was only the second time in her career that she had to cancel a show due to health concerns. Lizzo has pledged to reschedule the concert and compensate her followers.
Lizzo’s Special Tour, which began in September, has been both a musical and a political journey. During an April concert in Knoxville, Tennessee, she used drag queens to join her on stage in a dazzling spectacle to protest state legislation meant to prohibit public drag performances.

Why Did Lizzo Cancel Montreal Concert?
Lizzo, slated to perform at Bell Center in Montreal, had to cancel her performance due to health concerns. The artist shared a heartfelt video, explaining to her fans that she could not perform due to her deteriorating health.
Lizzo revealed that this was only the second time in her career that she had to cancel a performance due to health issues. The 35-year-old musician appeared upset in the Instagram video while covered in a blanket and wearing a face mask.

According to Lizzo, “Last night, I had a sore throat and a headache and went to bed. This morning, I woke up feeling weaker, with chills and a headache. Usually, if it’s just a cold, I shower, eat, and take medicine to get better. But this time, it’s getting worse.”
