Martin Luther King Jr. was a Civil Rights Movement leader who died in 1968. On Monday, January 16, people will think about his life.
Most banks, public schools, post offices, government buildings, and libraries in the D.C. area will be closed on the federal holiday. Anyone in the D.C. area who wants to can take part in one of the MLK Day of Service events.
The majority of gyms will be open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The third Monday of January, which is January 18 this year, is a day to remember the civil rights leader.
Some gyms may only be open for a shorter time or offer different services on federal holidays. Call your local branch before you go to find out its exact hours and any COVID-19 safety rules.
