A shooting at a Jehovah’s Witnesses center in Hamburg Germany killed 8 people, including the suspected gunman, authorities confirmed Friday while the motivation for the attack remained unknown.

An explanation for the shooting on Thursday night, which shocked Germany’s second-largest city, is yet unknown. Former Hamburg mayor and current chancellor Olaf Scholz called the shooting “a brutal act of violence.”
