“House of the Dragon,” a spinoff of “Game of Thrones,” just introduced a lousy guy who is even worse than Joffrey or Ramsay Bolton and he’s a cute little kid.
In the third episode of “House of the Dragon,” a toddler named Aegon, who is the son of King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and his new wife Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey), is introduced. Even though they are married in the second episode, the episode moves them ahead of time to celebrate the boy’s second “name day” or birthday. Aegon is the younger half-brother of Princess Renera (Millie Alcock). He’s still a little boy, but he’ll grow into a terrible man.
These episodes slowly build up to a brutal civil war between Rhaenyra and Aegon over who will take the Iron Throne from their father, Viserys. Even though the King has named Rhaenyra his heir, the firstborn son is usually the one who takes over. In this episode, the kid’s second birthday is celebrated and everyone is already talking about it.
The annoying Jason Lannister (Jefferson Hall) tells the King that if Rhaenyra married him, she would be well compensated for her “loss in the station” from no longer being the King’s heir since everyone now thinks that title will go to Aegon. Alicent and her father, Otto Hightower, played by Rhys Ifans, also talk about it. “Would you have me raise my son to steal his own sister’s birthright?” she asks, while Otto says that if the King’s firstborn son Aegon doesn’t become King, that would “go against the laws of gods and men.”
So, Aegon will grow up hearing this kind of talk and thinking that the throne should be his instead of his older half-sister Rhaenyra’s. Many people agree with him that he should take his sister’s birthright.
There will be more time jumps in this show, so this toddler will eventually grow up and be played by Tom Glynn-Carney, a British actor who is 27 years old and best known for his role in “Dunkirk.” If you want Rhaenyra to get the throne because she was named heir in the first episode, you’ll be disappointed to hear that he’s going to fight against her. And there will be a lot of death and destruction along the way. (The “carnage” part is clear from the amount of blood in the show’s opening credits.)
Some Fans Who Know About This kid Already Dislike Him
Rhaenyra is lucky that she has some strong allies in this fight. But so does Aegon. As the show continues, everyone will watch Daemon (Matt Smith), the fiery wild card who is a strong warrior, and Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) to see which side they choose.

The show was already picked up for a second season. No matter how many seasons this story goes on, it will end in a lot of violence, death, and tragedy, and it’s all Aegon’s fault because he won’t let his half-sister Rhaenyra take the Iron Throne after her father.
So, in this episode, this little toddler might look like any other cute kid… But soon, he’ll be a bad guy as Joffrey or Ramsay Bolton from “Game of Thrones,” and he’ll tear Westeros apart.
