Holland, Michigan Shooting: Police Search For Suspect As one Person Dead

Five hours after a deadly shooting in Holland, one person was taken into custody early Friday morning on 3 March 2023.

According to the sources, Police from the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to a shooting at 3 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on Abbey Court, close to Stratford Road. When the police arrived, they saw the suspect run away.

They also found the victim, who had been shot several times, in a car. The person was already dead, but they tried to help. The police have not said anything about who the victim was.

Witnesses told the police that the suspect and the hurt person knew each other. Both didn’t live in the apartment building.

To find out what happened, Holland police called in the county sheriff’s deputies and the Michigan State Police. They also brought in search dogs and put up drones. Then they got a call that someone in the area seemed strange.

That led them to the suspect near Dartmouth Avenue and E. 12th Street. A News 8 crew in the area saw someone being arrested just before 8:30 a.m. Police said they were sure it was the suspect and that the arrest went smoothly.

Across the street from Holland Heights Elementary, the suspect was caught. Before classes were canceled for the day, the school was given a two-hour delay. Normal bus service is back throughout the district.

While the search was going on, people were told to stay put. Later, that warning was taken down.
