Grey’s Anatomy Season 19: How To Watch It In US And UK?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 19: Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 has begun, and there have been some significant hospital changes and new interns learning the ropes. One of them is Ellen Pompeo, who is still present but apparently won’t be seen in quite as many episodes this season so she can focus on other acting roles.

The dramatic events of the Season 18 finale, in which the hospital’s residency program was canceled, caused Bailey (Chandra Wilson) to resign, and left Meredith with the decision of whether to stay in Seattle or take over as the hospital’s interim chief of surgery, were picked up six months later in the new season of Grey’s Anatomy.

At the end of the season, Meredith’s future was still up in the air; the position would require her to put her relationship with Nick (Scott Speedman) on the line, but the two had already parted ways amicably following a heated argument in Bailey’s old workplace. Nick recently started working as the hospital’s new residency director, and Meredith chose to remain there.

What is Expected to Happen in Grey’s Anatomy Season 19?

Season 18 of Grey’s Anatomy left a lot of unresolved issues, so season 19 will have a lot to cover. First, Miranda Bailey quit after Grey Sloan Hospital’s residency program was reduced, and Richard Webber took time off to travel with his wife Catherine. Meredith decided to succeed Bailey as Chief of Surgery as a result, and season 19 will feature her in her new position.

She told Dr. Nick Marsh to return to Minnesota without her in that new post, putting their relationship in jeopardy. Despite chasing him, she arrived too late because Marsh appeared to have already fled. But surely it isn’t over for them yet? Additionally, there are outstanding issues regarding Dr. Hunt and Dr. Altman, who are missing along with their kids after Bailey received a complaint about Hunt’s assisted suicide program.

Will they both, as main characters, return? Dr. Altman’s actress Kim Raver said to People: “I mean, I hope that’s not how we’re going to conclude it. With these two, there are still a lot of stories to be told.” There are still tales to be told, she continued. Regarding the upcoming season, Raver added: “It’s going to be a crazy 19th season. It’s like a bomb going off, but what will be the aftermath? What TV program can last 19 years?”

There is still a lot for season 19 to cover, such as Amelia’s friendship with Link and Jo and her relationship with Dr. Kai Bartley.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 Cast

Grey Sloan is getting new residents soon! The hospital’s teaching program will reassemble in the new season after being forced to disband at the conclusion of Season 18, and the program will feature some new characters. According to Deadline, former Shadowhunters actor Harry Shum Jr. will take the helm as Daniel “Blue” Kwan.

He’s a senior citizen whose career was once derailed by an unexplained familial circumstance. The S*ex Lives of College Girls’ Midori Francis, Inventing Anna’s Alexis Floyd, and The Thing About Harry’s Niko Terho, who featured alongside Jake Borelli in Freeform, are among the fresh faces he is joined by. The final four are new residents.

Main Cast Members:

  • Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey
  • Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey
  • Caterina Scorsone as Amelia Shepherd
  • Kelly McCreary as Maggie Pearce
  • Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt
  • Chris Carmack as Atticus Lincoln
  • Camilla Luddington as Jo Wilson
  • James Pickens Jr. as Richard Webber
  • Kim Raver as Teddy Altman
  • Jake Borelli as Levi Schmitt
  • Anthony Hill as Winston Ndugu

According to Deadline, which also verified the returns of Wilson, McKidd, and Raver, Scott Speedman makes a comeback in a recurring role to tie up Meredith and Nick’s storyline. Despite their appearances in the finale, Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew will not be returning as regulars in Season 19.

Richard Flood, who played Cormac Hayes in Season 18, is the only other recurring character who will not be back for Season 19. Meredith Grey’s stay in Minnesota might not be ended quite yet. Pompeo will make a “limited capacity” appearance in Grey’s Anatomy Season 19, according to TV Line’s story on August 3.

Even though Pompeo is still an executive producer on the show and will allegedly continue to narrate every episode, Meredith is anticipated to appear in about eight episodes of the forthcoming season, or about half of the episode order. It goes like this: You can take the girl out of Seattle, but you can never take Seattle out of the girl.

The revelation that Meredith won’t be at Grey Sloan full-time feels like a big indicator that her temporary position won’t turn into a permanent one and she is finally prepared to leave the hospital that raised her, especially in light of the Season 18 cliffhanger, which left Meredith debating whether to take over for Bailey or chase after Nick back to Minnesota.
