How To Watch Gossip Girl Season 2 And Where To Watch It?

Since the Gossip Girl reboot is an HBO Original series, you’ll need a subscription to the HBO Max streaming service to watch season two when it comes out on December 1. Season 1 was also available on CW, where the first Gossip Girl show aired, and on The CW’s online platforms, so the same could be true for season 2.

Sky has a deal with HBO to show HBO Originals in the UK, but the BBC got the rights to the new Gossip Girl.

It’s not clear yet if the BBC also has the first rights to season 2, but if it does, you’ll be able to watch it on BBC iPlayer in the UK when it comes out.

How Many Episodes Will There Be In Gossip Girl Season 2?

The first season of the new Gossip Girl had 12 episodes. The first six aired before a break in the middle of the season. We don’t know how many episodes season two will have yet, but we think it will be about the same. We’d also expect a break in the middle of the season.

Joshua Safran knows the number of episodes, but he says he can’t say it right now.

There were 121 episodes of the first show, which ran for six seasons. We hope that the reboot will last as long, but for now, all we know is that there will be a second season.

Who Is In The Cast Of Gossip Girl Season 2?

Kristen Bell, who played Gossip Girl in both the original series and the reboot, will be back. We should also hope so since it wouldn’t be the same without her.

The following characters will also be back for Gossip Girl Season 2:

  • Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott
  • Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway
  • Eli Brown as Otto ‘Obi’ Bergmann IV
  • Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe
  • Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope
  • Evan Mock as Akeno ‘Aki’ Menzies
  • Tavi Gevinson as Kate Kelle
  • Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan
  • Zion Moreno as Luna La

Some of the original Gossip Girl cast members, like Eleanor Waldorf (Margaret Colin), Cyrus Rose (Wallace Shawn), Nelly Yuki (Yin Chang), and Georgina Sparks’ son Milo (Azhy Robertson), made cameos in season 1, and it looks like we’ll see more of them in season 2.

The June teaser, which you can watch below, shows what looks like Michelle Trachtenberg’s character, Georgina Sparks, clapping in a theatre. The video says, “It only takes one spark… to start a fire.” It then says, “And I have a feeling this city is about to burn.”

Since then, it has been confirmed that Michelle Trachtenberg will be back in the second season as Georgina Sparks. Showrunner and executive producer Joshua Safran told Teen Vogue, “She’s an anarchist. She’ll do anything and for any reason she wants. So we brought that energy to the first show, and then we brought that energy back to this one. She’s the same, and I think it’s so fun that Michelle is older, we’re all older, and Georgina is older, but she still has the same energy. She’s out of time.”

He also said, “Where she’s introduced has a tie to the first show that I love, that is so funny, and it has to do with characters from the first show. She has this little run of dialogue about how she’s been interacting with characters from the first show for the last 15 years. It’s one of my favorite parts of this whole season.”

What Can We Expect From Gossip Girl Season 2?

Even though we don’t know what season 2 of the Gossip Girl reboot will be about, the official trailer, which you can watch below, shows that there will be a lot of drama. Things look like they will heat up a lot, and there are still a lot of storylines from season 1 that haven’t been finished.

Joshua Safran said, “Definitely, the second season is messier.” It was in response to a question about how Audrey’s mother, Kiki, feels about her daughter’s relationship with her father. The answer was “v complicated.”

Safran also said that the biggest difference between season one and season two would be that “a certain character will make us do the things I said we wouldn’t do in season one.”

The showrunner said that there will “of course” be more “throuple” scenes and that Zoya’s goal for the second season will be “to figure out who she is.”

Safran told Teen Vogue, “I always knew that if we got to season two, the characters themselves, having been manipulated by Gossip Girl for a whole season, would start to play into Gossip Girl’s hand.

“That would be the place to go back to doing what the first show did so well because A) we would have established ourselves as our own thing, and B) if you’re a group of teenagers and Gossip Girl is messing with you, it took a while for Blair and Serena to even fall into… They didn’t push each other early into the Seine or fountains. That’s because Gossip Girl has such a strong effect on you that it gets you excited, and that’s what happens in season two. There are catfights and people get pushed into fountains.
