God Of War: Ragnarok Gameplay Video Shows Off Updated Combat

In the forthcoming God of War Ragnarok, Kratos faces off against new reptile foes and receives a few combat tweaks to help him do so. One of the new foes Kratos will face has been revealed by the makers of God of War Ragnarok, along with some new combat settings that will make the Ghost of Sparta even deadlier in battle.

The merciless tyrant Odin is now aware of Kratos and Atreus’s deeds and has sent his armies to destroy them. This is only one of many mythological opponents that Kratos and Atreus will face on their journey to save the world’s end in God of War Ragnarok. In God of War Ragnarok, not even Kratos’s erstwhile allies are safe from his wrath. Even the once-benevolent Freya is out for blood after the Ghost of Sparta killed her son Balder. After a disturbing tease at the end of God of War, Kratos will finally meet Thor in God of War Ragnarok (2018). Fortunately, it appears that Kratos has learned some new techniques in God of War Ragnarok to help him defeat these formidable adversaries.

God Of War Ragnarök Theory: Kratos Will Die?

Many characters in God of War: Ragnarök want to see Kratos dead, but one of them might be even scarier than any of the Norse gods. It’s plausible that Kratos’s son, Atreus, will be the one to slay him in the future God of War Ragnarök. Although it’s still only a theory at this point and whether or not Kratos can be killed in God of War, the stunning notion seems to have extraordinary evidence behind it. Assuming God of War: Ragnarok launches on November 9 as planned, players will find out whether or not Kratos survives the event in a few months.

In the video game Ragnarök, Kratos and his son Atreus are experiencing Fimbulwinter, a forerunner of the world’s end. Most of the story’s details are secret, but we know that they are after Tyr, the Norse god of war. Thor, whose sons Kratos and Atreus were killed in God of War (2018), is only one of many new foes they’ll face. Freya, who was an ally at first but turned against the two after Kratos killed her son, is another. In GOW Ragnarok, Atreus and his father will travel across the Nine Realms of Norse mythology in quest of the truth about Atreus’s true heritage as Loki, the god of mischief.

New weapons And shields Have Been Implemented.

Sheth and Yeh discuss the improvements made to God of War’s (2018) ‘s acclaimed fighting system during this gameplay demo for God of War: Ragnarok. So, although in previous games pressing Triangle would bring back Kratos’ Leviathan Axe after he threw it, in Ragnarok, it serves a unique purpose when the Ghost of Sparta already has the weapon in his hands. Kratos’s assaults, known as Weapon Signature Moves, cause more significant damage because he can wield the ice and fire magic of his Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, respectively. Kratos’ shield is also upgrading, with two new varieties added to his arsenal. A successful late parry with the Dauntless Shield triggers a counterattack, but with the Stonewall Shield, parrying is exchanged for a shockwave when enough hits have been blocked.

During this demo of God of War, Ragnarok, Sheth and Yeh talk about the improvements they made to the game’s fighting system, which was praised in God of War (2018). For instance, in previous games, pressing Triangle allowed Kratos to retrieve the Leviathan Axe after he threw it. Still, in Ragnarok, the button has a different function for when the Ghost of Sparta is already wielding the weapon. Kratos’ Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos gain additional ice and fire magic, respectively, during his so-called Weapon Signature Moves. We’re also giving Kratos a new and improved shield, and there will be two variations available. Players with the Dauntless Shield can launch a devastating counterattack after successfully dodging an oncoming blow. At the same time, those with the Stonewall Shield can exchange parrying for a devastating shockwave after absorbing enough damage.
