Medical Daily says Jones died of hypoxic respiratory failure, which happens when the body doesn’t have enough oxygen to do its basic tasks. Hypoxic respiratory failure can happen when there isn’t enough oxygen in the blood, when the blood supply to the tissues isn’t good enough, or when there are toxins in the body that stop cells from using the oxygen that is there.
Jones spent a lot of time in the hospital in 2012 and at the beginning of 2013 because of different upper respiratory infections. He had to cancel and reschedule a number of concerts because of this. He had been in the hospital since April 18 because he had a fever and his blood pressure was off.
The singer was on what was supposed to be his last tour, and on November 22, an all-star farewell concert was set to take place in Nashville. On Thursday, May 2, his funeral will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Friends, family, and big names in the music business will be there to honor one of country music’s best singers. The service will be available to everyone.
Jones’s family has asked that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Grand Ole Opry Trust Fund or the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

George Glenn Jones was an American country musician, singer, and songwriter born on September 12, 1931, and died on April 26, 2013. He became famous worldwide for his many hit records, like “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” as well as his unique voice and way of putting things.
During the last 20 years of his life, Jones was often called the best country singer still alive. “We were standing at the foot of George’s bed, and he hadn’t said a word. All of a sudden, he opened his eyes. I was about to go over to him, but the doctor stopped me. George said, “Well, hello there. I’ve been looking for you. “I’m George Jones,” he said.
And that was the end of him.
Nancy Jones went on to say that it was possible that he was talking to God at that time.
“He shut his eyes, and that was the end of it. So, I know in my heart he was speaking to God.”
