Forza Motorsport: When Will This Game be Released For Xbox

There have been seven previous games in the Forza series, all of which were available for the Xbox. A complete picture is starting to emerge as construction continues at Turn 10 Studios. Turn 10 has revealed that the series will be rebranded as simply “Forza Motorsport” rather than “Forza Motorsport 8” to revive interest in the franchise. The title reflects this change. There’s a lot left to learn about the game, but if it can hold its own against Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, it’ll be a technical showcase for the Xbox Series X.

Turn 10 delayed the next installment for three years instead of the usual two to accomplish this revitalization and rebirth. The seven-year gap since the release of Forza Motorsport 7 in 2017 is the longest it has ever been between installments in the series. With the additional time for development, Turn 10 has reworked the ForzaTech engine to provide a real next-gen racing experience.

No new information on Forza Motorsport was revealed when Xbox was at Gamescom 2022. It wasn’t a surprise as Microsoft had already stated the game wouldn’t be present at Gamescom Opening Night Live or on the convention floor.

It would be great to get more information on Microsoft‘s upcoming racing simulator competitor.

Forza Motorsport Gameplay

Forza Motorsport is a significant improvement over Forza Motorsport 7, the previous installment in the series. That’s because, to begin with, it’ll represent a “big generational leap” above its predecessors. The game’s design director, Chris Esaki, explained the changes made to the physics engine since Forza Motorsport 7.

Compared to the adjustments made between Forza Motorsport 4 and Forza Motorsport 7, the physics work done between Forza Motorsport 7 and currently is more substantial. Simply put, the game is about to undergo a massive technological upgrade spanning several generations.

Esaki claims that the collision model between tyres has also been revised.

Every Forza game, from the first to the most recent, has used tyres with a single contact patch and a refresh rate of 60 hertz (60Hz).

In Forza Motorsport, the engine will refresh at 360 hertz, and there will be eight contact points between the car and the track (360Hz). If one tyre collided with another, the fidelity would increase by 48. In a first for the series, multiple tyre formulations have also been revealed. Esaki predicted that adding tyre compounds like hard, medium, and soft will result in “interesting new gameplay decisions throughout a race.” Esaki claims that Forza Motorsport’s environment will require careful consideration and may result in a unique sensation with each lap.

We are investigating the effects of track temperature on grip, tyre pressure, and tread life. The improved tyre wears modeling and all the new compounds, together with the impact of time of day and weather, should make for more realistic and immersive racing and driving experience.
