Matt Fitzpatrick shot to PGA Tour notoriety less than a year ago with his first professional victory in America, the U.S. Open in Brookline.
He had already established his impact on the DP World Tour, having won seven events before the US Open and being a member of the European Ryder Cup squads in 2016 and 2020.
In mid-June, he won the 2022 U.S. Open by one stroke over Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris. It was being held at The Country Club, where he had won the US Amateur over a decade before.
Matt Fitzpatrick has remained in the spotlight for his PGA Tour performance ever since, and he was even one of the pros included in Netflix’s Full Swing documentary series.
The 28-year-old debuted red carpet with his girlfriend Katherine Gaal at premiere in mid-February.
Fitzpatrick had uploaded an Instagram photo with Gaal in Kapalua a month before the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Gaal also caddied for Fitzpatrick at The Masters Par 3 Contest last week.
According to Gaal’s LinkedIn, she attended Penn State for university and received a double major in broadcast journalism and general finance.
She is employed by Commvault, a software development firm based in New Jersey. Gaal joined Commvault as a regional marketing manager for the Southeast after serving as an associate regional manager and associate field marketing manager in the public sector.
She had previously worked as a Tennis Professional in New Jersey and finished first in the 2013 Miss New Jersey USA Pageant.
