Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: When Will The Game Released With Remake Part 2

Square Enix announced the new name for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 and the fact that it will be the second game in a trilogy earlier this year. It’s still early, and Square Enix has a lot more to show us about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been able to figure out some important details.

It’s possible that there has never been a better time to be a fan of Final Fantasy. Square Enix is not only working on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and its sequel but also on Crisis Core Remaster for 2022 and Final Fantasy 16 for 2023. And if you haven’t played Final Fantasy VII Remake yet, you can now get the Intergrade version, which is bigger and better. It’s on Steam and PS5.

Read on to find out what we know about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Release Date

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth might come out “next winter,” but that’s just a guess. Winter usually lasts from December to March, but we think Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will come out in 2023. Final Fantasy VII Remake has been out for three long years, but the improved ‘Intergrade’ version is now available on PS5 and PC, so there’s plenty of time to catch up and play through Cloud’s reimagined adventure.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Platform

PS5 is the only platform where Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is sure to come out. Final Fantasy VII Remake came out for PS4 initially, but it looks like Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 won’t be coming out for PS4

as Square Enix focuses on the next generation of consoles. Square Enix hasn’t said yet if Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available on PC. Still, since Final Fantasy Intergrade is already on Steam, Rebirth will likely be there too.

Will the Remake of Final Fantasy VII come to Xbox?

There is still no answer to whether Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to Xbox platforms, but there is still some hope. Final Fantasy VII Remake and its sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, are currently only available on the PlayStation console. But now that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is finally on PC, the chances of it coming to Xbox Series X have gotten better. Couple that with the fact that Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion, a Remaster of the FF7 prequel in the style of Remake, is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X later this year, and Square Enix might be laying the groundwork for a future release of Remake Intergrade on Microsoft platforms.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Gameplay

The gameplay of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is expected to be similar to that of Final Fantasy VII Remake, with high-quality production values, fast-paced combat that leans toward action, and the kind of world-building that can only be found in a Final Fantasy game. The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth reveal trailer was light on engine details, but it showed how far Square Enix has come with the quality of Part 2 of the Remake trilogy. We still don’t know how combat and exploration will change, though. In the coming months, you can expect to learn more. Also, read the gameplay of Forza Motorsport.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Trailer

Even though the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer was only 1 minute and 34 seconds long, we’ll be thinking about it for a long time. This short look at what Square Enix has planned for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 has piqued our interest, especially since it shows Cloud and Sephiroth stalking some familiar areas as the party moves out of Midgar and into the wider world. The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth reveal trailer also gave us our first look at the game’s new graphics, made possible by Square Enix’s use of the PS5’s power.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Story

If you’ve played the 1997 version of Final Fantasy VII and the 2020 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake, you already know that their stories are very different. Square Enix took the basic structure of the first game and rethought it for a new generation of players. Because of this, we don’t know what twists and turns the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth story will have. We do know, though, that this will pick up right where Intergrade left off, with Cloud arriving in the village of Kalm and Zack going into the Sector 5 church to look for Aerith before letting the rest of the group go outside of Midgar to explore the world.

Also, creative director Tetsuya Nomura says that you don’t have to have played Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VII Remake to enjoy Part 2 of the story “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is being made so that people who have never played the original game can still enjoy it. In fact, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth could be a great way for new players to start their Final Fantasy VII journey. In this game, Cloud and his friends start a new journey, and I think the scenes they see after they leave Midgar will give players a fresh, new experience.”
