‘Family Reunion’ Part 5: Meet the Cast of this Sitcom About Family Values

Family Reunion will return for one more season 5 on Netflix. The multi-cam sitcom is now being filmed. Even though it’s the third season of the show, because of how it’s released on Netflix, we’ll call it the fifth season. So far, here’s what we know.

The series was made by Meg DeLoatch and first appeared on Netflix in July 2019. It has been released in 5 parts, including a Christmas special, with the most recent 7 episodes coming out in August 2021. Family Reunion has won and been nominated for a number of awards, including a nomination for a Primetime Emmy.

Loretta Devine

In 2011, Devine won an Emmy Award for her role on Grey’s Anatomy as Adele Webber. She also played supporting roles in the movies Waiting to Exhale and The Preacher’s Wife, both of which won NAACP Image Awards in 1995 and 1996. More recently, she was in The Starling, Naked, and Sierra Burgess is a Loser, all of which were on Netflix.

Cocoa Mckellan

Mowry plays Cocoa, who is married to Moz, M’Dear’s son, and is still getting used to living with her in-laws after moving from Seattle to Columbus, Georgia. She has a new baby and four other kids to take care of, but she is still working hard to promote her line of handmade jewelry. M’Dear is always sure to remind him.

Richard Roundtree
GRANDPA JEB MCKELLAN

Jeb, M’Dear’s husband and a Baptist preacher, is played by Roundtree. He is happy that Moz, Cocoa, and his grandchildren live with them, but he wouldn’t mind if they moved out. Even though he is pretty set in his ways, his grandchildren have a way of making him see things in a different way.
