Euphoria Season 2: Release Date Status, Spoilers, Cast, Trailer And Plot

Since the first season came out, Zendaya has gotten a lot of praise for how she plays the main character, Rue Bennett, who has problems with drugs and her mental health.

At the 72nd Emmy Awards in 2020, the actor won the award for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.” This made her the youngest actor to ever win this award.

“I just want to say that there is hope in the young people out there,” she said when she got the award. “I know that our TV show doesn’t always feel like a great example of that, but there is hope in our young people, and I just want to say to all my peers out there doing the work in the streets, “I see you, I admire you, and I thank you.”

Jacob Elordi, who used to date Zendaya and plays the bad guy Nate Jacobs on the show, is also a star.

 Euphoria Season 2 Release Date

Due to the pandemic, plans for Euphoria season 2 had to be put on hold. Before season two came out, the show aired two special episodes that showed Bennett after he got sick again.

The Euphoria season 2 came out on January 9, 2022.

Euphoria Season 2 Plot

In episode eight of season one, “And Salt the Earth Behind You,” Bennett overdoses after her boyfriend, Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), leaves her on a train platform. The second season starts with Bennett’s slip-up. She had been sober for three months before that.

Throughout the series, Bennett’s character has more upsetting moments and fights, while the characters of her co-stars have to deal with cheating, betrayal, and death.

The things that were talked about in season two seem to have become a worry for at least one superhero.

In a recent interview with Zendaya for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Andrew Garfield, who plays Spider-Man, said that he respected and worried about the actor because one of season two’s episodes dealt with a tough subject.

“I think it was the fifth episode. Garfield explained, “It’s one of the most nonstop TV shows I’ve ever seen.” “I’m getting to know you better, but to have access to that kind of awfulness, damage, and pain, and to make it so human. I was like, ‘Are you OK?’ How did you make sure you were safe while you were doing that?’

When her mother Leslie (Nika King), Jules (Hunter Schafer), and Elliot (Dominic Fike) found out that Rue had relapsed, they confronted her in the episode. Leslie tries to take Rue to rehab, but Rue jumps out of the car and runs away. Later, Rue starts to feel the withdrawal symptoms on her own. After another attempt to help her, Rue is caught breaking into a house. She gets away from the police and makes it back home.

He also said that Zendaya’s performance in the clip was “one of the most impressive things I’ve seen an actor do in recent memory.”

Euphoria Season 2 Cast

Starring with Zendaya is Bennett’s best friend Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), all of whom were in the last season. Minka Kelly from Friday Night Lights, who plays a drug-addicted housewife on that show, is one of the new cast members. So are Indie singer Dominic Fike and rapper Lil Meech. But it seems like Tom Holland, who is rumored to be dating Zendaya, has been trying to get a role for a long time.

During the tour for their new movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, a fan asked the actor in an IMDb video if he would be open to making a cameo in Euphoria. In December 2022, he said, “Listen, I’ve been asking for this for a long time, and it still hasn’t happened. I’m very disappointed.”

He also said, “I must have been to Euphoria at least 30 times this season.” Zendaya told Holland that the show’s makers “should have tried to put you in there like an Easter egg.”

“I wish I were in Euphoria!” Holland said more, and Zendaya said, “Okay.” Let me talk with some people. HBO, let’s call them.

After a few weeks, in February 2022, fans started to think that Holland was an extra in season 2, episode 7 (which was released on NOW TV on February 21). In the episode, Lexi gives the first performance of her play, and fans think that Holland was there to see it. One of the people watching the play looks a lot like the British star.
