Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr., who goes by the stage name Alden Richards and was born on January 2, 1992, is a Filipino actor, singer, host, and business owner who has won several awards. After winning the acting prize at the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards of 2019, he has been called “Asia’s Multimedia Star.”

Richards became famous when he started dating Maine Mendoza and became part of their love team, AlDub.

His most famous works are Tween Hearts, One True Love, Carmela, The Road, Ilustrado, Imagine You and Me, Victor Magtanggol, Hello, Love, Goodbye, The Gift, The World Between Us, and Start-Up PH. As a recording artist, he has put out albums and singles through Universal Records and GMA Music.

Alden Richards was born Richard Reyes Faulkerson, Jr. on January 2, 1992, in Quezon City. He was named after his father. Alden Richards grew up in Santa Rosa, Laguna. He is Richard Peralta Faulkerson, Srsecond .’s child. He was born in Ermita, Manila.

Rosario Reyes, who is from Pampanga, is the sixth person. He has a brother who is older than him and two sisters who are younger than him. Richards’s grandfather on his dad’s side was American, but he never met him.

Richards wanted to be a pilot when he was young, but his mother told him to try acting instead  After his mother died, Richards joined male beauty pageants in Laguna and worked as a part-time commercial model to make money for his family and fulfil his mother’s wish that he become an actor.

Career as an actor

After being a model, Alden tried out for a part in the afternoon soap opera Alakdana on the GMA Network. He got the part of Joma because he did well at the audition. In Alakdana, he worked with Louise Delos Reyes, who played the lead role. 19: When he started acting, he used the name Alden Richards as his stage name. He was in the teen show Tween Hearts in 2011 and starred in the movie Tween Hearts: Class of 2012, which was based on the show. He also sang on Sunday shows Party Pilipinas and Sunday All Stars on the GMA Network. Spooky Nights, a comedy-horror show, also had him in it. In the movie The Road, Richards played a psychopath, and his role was praised. At the end of 2011, he took over Aljur Abrenica’s role as Gobi in Ang Panday 2, which is an entry in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival. Abrenica had to leave the film because her schedule didn’t work with the rest of the crew’s. Richards re-shot the scenes that Abrenica had already done. Some entertainment writers praised Richards for his performances and said he would be the next big star on GMA Network.

In 2011, the first Yahoo! OMG! Philippines Awards were held, and Alden was named the 1st Filipino Amazing Male Newcomer.

He also won the Golden Screen Award for Best New Actor in the same year. On national TV, he asked the 2011 FHM Sexiest of the Year, Sam Pinto, out on a date.

The latter did accept the invitation and went on a cruise date with Richards in the Manila Bay, but the actress revealed that it was all a lie.

Modeling and endorsements

Alden Richards is an actor, but he also works as a model. In 2010, he was number four on the list of “Celebrity Cuties” in Candy Magazine. His first modelling job was at the Candy Fair in Pasig. Richards, along with fellow actors JM De Guzman and Enrique Gil, is a brand ambassador for a clothing brand. In July 2012, Richards was on the cover of MEGA Magazine with Bela Padilla, Kris Bernal, and Sarah Lahbati. They were called “GMA’s new breed of rising talents.” Since then, he has been in a number of magazines and endorsed by a number of companies.

Philanthropy

Alden became a Habitat for Humanity Philippines ambassador in 2014.

On his birthday in January 2015, Richards helped build homes in Payatas, Quezon City, with other volunteers and families who were part of a non-profit organisation

In February 2016, Richards goes to the Aeta community in Tarlac for an outreach programme. This is part of his celebrations after his birthday.

After Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines in 2013 and caused a lot of damage, Richards took part in GMA Network’s efforts to help.

Richards also took part in GMA Network’s #ShareTheLove Christmas campaign in 2014, for which he chose to help children with cancer.

In September 2015, Alden became the Young Emerging Sociopreneurs (YES) ambassador for Boardwalk. The goal of the campaign is to get students to work while they are still in school. Richards also took part in Boardwalk’s Share Campaign, a portion of the money

Ambassador

Alden was chosen as an ambassador for Bida Solusyon in July 2020. Bida Solusyon is a campaign created by the Department of Health to teach people about how to stay healthy and stop the spread of COVID-19. He is also the USAID’s representative for the End Tuberculosis campaign in the Philippines.

Personal Life

Richards says that his Catholic faith was taught to him by his grandfather’s mother, Linda. Richards said that during Lent, he would go to seven churches, read the epic poem “Pasyon,” and watch Christian movies like “The Passion of the Christ,” “The Ten Commandments,” “Jesus of Nazareth,” and “The Gospel of John.”

Alden resides in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
