Eileen Ryan was found dead on Sunday at her home in Malibu, California. She was 94 years old. On Monday, a member of the famous family of the star said that she died on Sunday. This month, she would have been 95.

The legendary actress was the mother of actors Sean Penn, 62, and Chris Penn, who died in 2006 at the age of 40, as well as musician Michael Penn, 64.
Ryan was married to actor and director Leo Penn for 41 years. They met at rehearsals for the play “The Iceman Cometh” in New York in 1957. They got married soon after they met and stayed together until Leo’s death in 1998. From 1953 to 1954, Ryan was in “Sing Till Tomorrow” on Broadway. In 1958, he was in “Comes a Day.”

During her decades-long career, the talented actress and singer were in more than 60 movies and TV shows.
Her best-known movies are “Feast” (2005), “Parenthood” (1989), “Eight Legged Freaks” (2002), “Magnolia” (1999), and “All the King’s Men” (2006). She also appeared in several of her sons’ movies, such as “At Close Range” (1986), “I Am Sam” (2001), “The Indian Runner” (1991), and “The Crossing Guard” (1995).
She was the best guest star on TV shows like “The Twilight Zone,” “Bonanza,” “Little House on the Prairie,” “NYPD Blue,” “ER,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Private Practice,” “Ally McBeal,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” among many others.
