Donald Trump Jr App Launched News App: How does it Work?

Ex-Trump staffers, including Donald Trump Jr., are starting up a new app called MxM News, which they hope will compete with Apple News and other news apps like Google News.

First, Donald Trump made a social media and news app that looked like the big tech companies didn’t want him to be on their apps. And now, his son is following in his footsteps. He plans to start a news aggregator site that, according to Axios, he hopes will hurt the companies that he thinks haven’t been nice to the family name.

“MxM News,” as it will be called, is going to be run by former Trump staffers and the former president’s oldest son. The goal is to “disrupt” mobile news apps like Google and Apple News.

The Drudge Report, a conservative-leaning news aggregator, used to occupy this space. Axios reports that the number of unique visitors to the site has dropped by 57% from 2018 to 2021, which isn’t good for the site. The site’s founder, Matt Drudge, made a name for himself when he broke the news about Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky.

“MxM News,” which stands for “Minute by Minute News,” is a free service for users. Donald Trump Jr says it will fight against anti-conservative bias in the news aggregator world with MxM News.

Mr. Trump Jr. told Axios, “As I travel around the country, the complaint I hear more than almost anything else is that people don’t know which media outlets or journalists they can trust.”

How does the MXM News app work?

If you want to try out the app for yourself, getting started is a straightforward process. Go to the App Store on your iPhone (or Google Play if you have an Android phone), search for the MxM News program, and download the one from developer Telegraph.’ Once you have the app, you can share it with others. When users first launch the app, they are prompted to sign in with an existing account or to create a new one.

You can create an account directly with MxM News, or you can sign up using your Google, Facebook, Twitter, or Apple login credentials as an alternative. MxM News prompts users to select topics that they are interested in after they have created or linked their accounts. The categories that are now available are rather limited, with the only selections being Politics, Policy, Life & Culture, International, Finance & Money, and America First as the only alternatives.

After selecting your favorite categories, click on the blue circle in the top right corner, and you’ll be taken to the MxM News home page in seconds. The app defaults to showing ‘trending’ articles, but you can utilize the navigation bar at the top to narrow down the selection by selecting other categories of stories. There’s also a search icon, which allows users to look for certain stories or subjects, and a menu icon towards the bottom left, which provides access to features such as profile settings, display settings, and so on.

MxM News’ boast of removing censorship and bias is similar to that of Truth Social, which means there will be a lot of content that supporters of Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. will be interested in. A brief check through the app reveals a plethora of stories sourced from outlets such as Fox News, Breitbart, the New York Post, Newsmax, and others. If they are the types of publications you enjoy reading, MxM News may be worth your time to investigate. However, for the rest of us, there’s nothing here that’s particularly noteworthy.
