Did Reservation Dogs Get Renewed For Season 3 At Fx

Reservation Dogs, praised by critics, has been picked up for a third season by Hulu, according to production company FX Productions. This comes as no surprise. The news that the show will be back for a third season comes a week before the last episode of the second season airs on September 28.

Reservation Dogs is a comedy-drama for teens that is both about and made by Native Americans. The cast, crew, production team, and even the person in charge of the show are almost all Native Americans. The plot of the Hulu series is also a compelling coming-of-age story about four Native American teens who live on a reservation in rural Oklahoma. They tell their stories after one of their friends died a year before the series starts. Main stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Paulina Alexis, Lane Factor, and Devery Jacobs, who just got a part in the new Disney Plus project Echo, give memorable performances on the show.

The second season of Reservation Dogs has been a huge critical success, just like the first. Fans love the unique premise and point of view of the project. So, it wasn’t a surprise that Hulu and FX Productions, who had already renewed the dark comedy The Bear earlier in the year, agreed on a third season before the end of the second season. Indigenous filmmaker and project director Sterlin Harjo was happy with the decision and said in a statement, “I couldn’t be more proud of this show I made with my friend Taika Waititi. It started with a conversation in Taika’s kitchen and is now a part of people’s lives all over the world. People have been crazy about season two. Thank you to FX for giving us a third-season order. We can’t wait to bring you more love and laughter from the Rez. Ahoooo!”

Nick Grad, the President of Original Programming at FX, was also happy with the decision. He said Reservation Dogs was a source of pride for everyone working on it. Along with Harjo, Thor: Love and Thunder writer and director Taika Waititi helped make the show. His work on the Marvel Studios project showed that the Disney-owned franchise could go in a new direction. Along with Garrett Basch, both men are executive producers, and Kathryn Dean is the show’s producer.

Fans of Reservation Dogs who were worried about the show’s future as the second season came to a close can now rest easy. The announcement says that the next episode will be made sooner rather than later. Harjo and co-creator Waititi care a lot about the project. Waititi will give it his all even though he is scheduled to work on many different projects, including writing and directing a Star Wars project for Disney that will be released in 2020.

The renewal of Reservation Dogs and other similar successes have been big wins for Hulu, which is currently set to be bought out by Disney and integrated into Disney Plus after current Hulu co-owner Comcast follows through on its promise to sell by or before 2024. Since Disney already owns most of the company, the decision was probably theirs as it was FX’s, which could mean that the show’s future is safe.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Reservation Dogs are now on Hulu.
