2 Detroit Police Officers Killed in Livonia in Suspected Murder-Suicide

Authorities said that on Sunday, two Detroit police officers were discovered dead at an apartment in Livonia. The remains were found in the suburban apartment, according to Detroit police chief James White, and the cops’ killings were a murder-suicide.

On Sunday just after 4 p.m., James gave a brief news briefing from the parking lot of the apartment building where the fatal incident occurred, close to Farmington and Six Mile roads in Livonia.

The Livonia Police Department is in charge of the investigation. White and a few of the officers from the Detroit Police Department were present at the site, but the department is not conducting the research.

“A very tragic and sad course of events,” White said at the briefing, which was posted on Facebook.

“It appears to be domestic. It looks like preliminarily murder-suicide, and that’s where we are right now.”

The information, according to the chief of police for Detroit, is tentative and susceptible to change. He stated that neither of the victims’ names would be made public and that the Livonia Police Department would release more details.

“A sad day for our department,” White said.  White said, referring to Detroit Police Department officers who were present at the scene Sunday afternoon, “Thoughts and prayers go out to the family as well as our officers, who you can see over there that are taking it pretty hard.”
