Boulder County Crews Respond to a Report of a Shooting at the Lafayette Mobile Home Park

Workers from Boulder County were dispatched to a Lafayette mobile home park on Tuesday after reports of a Shooting.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, dispatchers got word of a shooting at Lafayette Gardens, located at 11700 E. South Boulder Road.

Police in Lafayette, Louisiana, posted on Twitter that they were looking for a possible armed suspect. The suspect is a bald, fair-skinned Hispanic male last seen in a white or grey sweater.

If you see the suspect, please dial 911 immediately.

Officials from the Boulder Valley School District claimed that after placing Sanchez Elementary, Justice High, Lafayette High, and Peak to Peak Charter schools on secure status because of the call, they subsequently gave the schools the all-clear and freed their kids.

The doors are locked and classes proceed as usual while in a secure position.

The Lafayette Police Department announced just after 5 p.m. that the shelter-in-place orders had been withdrawn for the affected boundary areas but that the suspect had not yet been apprehended.
