Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy, Kazushi Hagiwara is the author of the Japanese manga series Ankoku no Hakaishin, which translates to “Bastard!! The Dark God of Destruction.” Hagiwara is also the illustrator of the series. 1988 marked the beginning of the manga’s publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shnen Jump.
Since 2000, it has been continuing in Ultra Jump on an irregular basis, and the most recent chapter was published in 2010. As of the year 2012, a total of 27 collected tankbon volumes had been made available. Only the first 19 volumes of the manga were ever translated and published in English by Viz Media, who had previously held the license for the manga’s distribution in North America.

The first half of the anime, which consists of episodes 1-13, just recently made its debut on Netflix. The remaining ten episodes, which range from 14-24, are on their way shortly after now, bringing the series’ Bastard Anime Season 2 adaptation to a successful conclusion. To date, over 30 million copies of the series have been distributed. Both the world of Dungeons & Dragons and the culture of heavy metal music serve as major inspirations for this comic series. As a result, the names of the characters and the plot are greatly influenced by these two worlds.
