‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’: Subject Of First Animated Movie Revealed (Latest Updates)

Three animated Avatar movies are being made by Paramount and Nickelodeon. Last month, it was announced that Lauren Montgomery, who directed “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” would be in charge of the untitled first part. At the Avatar: Braving the Elements panel at Comic-Con today, voice actors Janet Varney (Korra in The Legend of Korra) and Dante Basco (Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender) shared more information about the first movie. Varney made the announcement, but he wasn’t there in person. Instead, he did it through a video that was shown in the room.

“The first full-length movie from Avatar Studios will be about Avatar Aang and his friends, and I can’t wait!” she said, holding up a copy of the book Avatar: The Rise of Kyoshi. You can watch the full video below.

Aang was the main character in the first animated series of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which ran for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. His voice was done by Zach Tyler Eisen. Aang and his friends are supposed to be a bit older in the movie.

Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino, who made Avatar: The Last Airbender, the first show in a new franchise for Nickelodeon, produced with the show’s executive producer, Eric Coleman.

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, Eisen played Aang, a young boy who woke up in a world of elemental magic that was at war. He had to go on a dangerous mystic quest to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar and bring peace to the world. After that very popular show, Nickelodeon made a sequel called The Legend of Korra, which ran for four seasons from 2012 to 2014.

Since then, a live-action movie came out in 2010, and a live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender is being made by Netflix without Konietzko and DiMartino’s help.
