Anne Heche ‘Not Expected To Survive’ After Suffering Brain Injury in Car Crash

Anne Heche is “not expected to survive” her horrific car crash. The actress’s representative told on Thursday night that she “suffered a severe anoxic brain injury” in the accident and “remains in a coma” at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in California.

“It has been her choice for a long time to donate her organs,” her spokeswoman said, adding that she is being kept alive to see if any of her organs are still good.

Anne Heche’s representative thanked the actress’s fans “for their kind thoughts and prayers” and “the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses” who have cared for her since the accident on August 5.

“Anne had a big heart, and her kind spirit touched everyone she met. “More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work, especially moving the needle on acceptance of who you love,” her rep said.

“She will be remembered for being honest and brave, and her light will be sorely missed.”

Anne Heche, who is 53 years old, “became unconscious and fell into a coma” after her blue Mini Cooper crashed into a house in Los Angeles last Friday and caught fire.

“She has a serious lung injury that needs mechanical ventilation and burns that need surgery,” a representative for her said three days after the accident.

Since then, the condition of the “Vanished” star has gone from “critical” to “dire.”

The Los Angeles Police Department was able to figure out that Heche was high on cocaine at the time of the crash after getting a warrant to test her blood.

Thursday afternoon, law enforcement sources told TMZ that the actress’ blood test results also showed fentanyl.

They did warn, though, that Heche might have been given fentanyl at the hospital to help with her pain after the accident.

TMZ said that the “Men in Trees” star was not drunk, even though a photo taken just before the accident showed a bottle with a red cap in her car’s cupholder.

Wednesday, when the woman whose house Heche crashed into said she was hurt and needed medical help, the LAPD changed its investigation to a felony DUI.

Eyewitnesses at the scene say that the actress first crashed into the garage of a nearby apartment complex, then turned around and drove off quickly.

Officials from the LAPD West Traffic Division have already confirmed that she hit another car before crashing into the burning house.
