It was disclosed on Thursday by Frank Fritz’s co-host on American Pickers, Mike Wolfe, that Fritz had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. In an Instagram post, Wolfe broke the news, saying, “Regarding Frank’s previous year and his struggle, I have been quite quiet. Although there has been much speculation about my friendship with Frank and the show, this is not the appropriate time to clear the air. Pray for my friend now, please.”
On, he elaborated, “Frank is hospitalized after suffering a stroke. Think fondly of him in your prayers.”
Wolfe, 58, accompanied the quips with a photo of a happy-looking 56-year-old Fritz. “Frank, please know that my deepest, most sincere wish is that you get through this situation unscathed. I adore you, chum “Finally, he drew a conclusion.
Wolfe said that things between him and Fritz haven’t always been smooth. When Fritz informed The Sun in July of 2016 that he had quit American Pickers, a History Channel reality show about the quest for Americana relics, he and Wolfe had been working well together.
Fritz added, “I haven’t spoken to Mike in two years.” “He was aware that my back was hurting, yet he didn’t bother to check in with me. Simply said, that’s the way things are.”
Their friendship hasn’t always been smooth sailing, as Wolfe mentioned.
Wolfe later told People that he was going to miss working with his former co-star and wished him well.
“Frank has been like a brother to me for as long as I can remember,” he said to the media. “Just like the rest of life, the path Frank, Dani (Danielle), and I set out on in 2009 has had its ups and downs, its blessings and its trials, but it has also been the most rewarding. I, too, will miss Frank, and I wish nothing but the best for him as he continues his life’s journey.”
Fritz informed The Sun after the initial breakup that he had entered rehab for alcohol abuse and been let off from American Pickers. The news arrived during his period of recuperation from extensive back surgery and a difficult breakup with his longtime partner, Diann Bankson. In March of 2020, he made his final appearance.
Wolfe later told People that he hoped his former co-star had a successful career and that he would regret working with him.
“Frank has been like a brother to me for as long as I can remember,” he said to the media. “Similar to the rest of life, the path Frank, Dani (Danielle), and I set out on in 2009 has had its ups and downs, its blessings and its trials, but it has also been the most rewarding. I, too, will miss Frank, and I wish nothing but the best for him as he continues on his adventure.”
