A week after she was seriously hurt in a car accident, US actor Anne Heche died. A family member confirmed the news to the US online news site TMZ in a statement: “We have lost a bright light, a kind and joyful soul, a good mother, and a loyal friend.
“Anne will be greatly missed, but she will live on in her beautiful sons, her famous body of work, and the causes she worked so hard for. Her bravery in always telling the truth and spreading her message of love and acceptance will have an effect that will last for a long time.
On Friday afternoon, representatives for Heche, who is 53 years old, said that she was “brain dead,” which is what the law in California calls death. It was said earlier in the day that Heche would have her life support turned off. It is known that her heartbeat was kept going in case she could receive an organ donation.
Heche’s oldest son, Homer, who is 20 years old, made a statement on behalf of himself and his 13-year-old half-brother, Atlas, on Friday night.

He told People, “My brother Atlas and I lost our mother.” “After six days of almost unbelievable changes in how I feel, I’m left with a deep sadness I can’t describe. I hope my mom is no longer in pain and is starting to enjoy what I like to think of as her eternal freedom.
He also said, “During those six days, thousands of friends, family members, and fans told me how they felt. I’m thankful for their love and for the support of my dad, Coley, and my stepmom, Alexi, who continues to be my rock during this time.
Homer Heche said, “Rest in peace, Mom. I love you.”
A friend of the actor, Nancy Davis, posted on Instagram earlier on Friday: “Heaven has a new Angel. My friend @anneheche went to heaven. She was loving, kind, funny, sweet, and beautiful. I will miss her so much and will always remember all the good times we had together.
“Anne was always the kindest, most thoughtful person I’ve ever met, and she always brought out the best in me… My heart is broken.”
Ellen DeGeneres, who used to be with Heche, wrote on Twitter, “This is a sad day. I send all my love to Anne’s children, family, and friends.”

Many people had hoped that Heche would get better after her publicist said she was in “stable” condition after she crashed her car into a house in Los Angeles on August 5. Firefighters said she talked to them as they freed her from the wreckage and took her to the hospital.
