According to sources within the law enforcement community, a female bicycle was struck and murdered by an NYPD car late on Friday night in the borough of Queens.
According to the sources, the woman was struck by the police SUV at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Beach Channel Drive and Beach 32nd Street in Far Rockaway.
According to the sources, the bicyclist was transported to a local hospital, where she was subsequently confirmed dead.
The New York Police Department did not immediately state the fatal collision. The NYPD SUV also collided with a black sedan parked in the Beach Channel Shopping Center, as evidenced by photographs taken in the immediate aftermath of the accident.
