Olivia Newton-John Sold off Her Real Estate After Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

Olivia Newton-John found out she had stage 4 cancer in 2018. A year later, in 2019, she sold most of her huge real estate portfolio so she could put more money into her foundation and wellness center, The Post has learned.

“Olivia was always happy to help. “She gave back for the last 20 years of her life,” a person who knew Newton-John told The Post. “She wanted to leave something behind that would last and that her daughter could also use.”

In 2019, Newton-John put her California horse ranch on the market for $5.4 million. She had a 36-year-old daughter with her first husband, Matt Lattanzi, named Chloe Rose Lattanzi. But the “Grease” star chose to spend her last days in the house, the source said.

Instead, records show that Newton-John, who died on Monday at the age of 73, officially gave full ownership of the Santa Barbara estate to her husband, John Easterling, in October 2021. Easterling then refinanced the mortgage on the home, which still owed $2.5 million.

In recent years, she also started the Olivia Newton-John Foundation.

In an interview with Forbes in 2020, she said, “The idea is to fund research into kinder ways to treat cancer, prevent cancer, and live well with cancer.” “So, I think we’ll get to a point where it’s just treated like any other illness that you can sort of control and live well with, and, of course, we’ll hope to find a cure for. I try to live well, and I hope that I can help other people do the same.”
