10 Netflix Shows We Can’t Wait To See In 2023

New Year’s resolutions are hard to keep, except for one: watch more TV.

Whether it’s a prestige drama, something to talk about around the water cooler, or the latest binge-watching show for the weekend, a new year is no longer complete without much TV on the way.

IndieWire has already chosen 11 shows to watch in 2023, but that’s not enough for a viewer who can’t get enough. Here are 10 new and old shows that will only be on Netflix in 2023. We plan to watch all of them.

1 “The Witcher” Season 3

“The Witcher” has always been popular, but Season 3 is especially important because it’s the last with Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Liam Hemsworth will take over the role in Season 4.

Lauren Hissrich, the showrunner, won’t say how Season 3 will adapt Andrzej Sapkowski’s book, but fans know the Wild Hunt is coming because Ciri Freya Allan saw it in Season 2. When adapting Season 3 from “Time of Contempt,” Hissrich told Entertainment Weekly, “There’s so much to do that we were able to stay very close to the books.”

2. “XO, Kitty”

In “XO, Kitty,” which is a spinoff of the “To All the Boys” series, the focus moves from Lara-Jean (Lana Condor) to her younger sister Kitty (Anna Cathcart). Kitty says she sent the letter that brought her sister the love of her life, but this 10-part series is about her own romantic awakenings with her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Choi Min-young). Jenny Han, who wrote “To All the Boys,” and Sascha Rothchild are both on the executive team.

3. Season of “You”

“You” has become a masterful satire on liberal entitlement and toxic masculinity since it first aired on Lifetime in 2018 and is now available to stream on Netflix.

At the center is Penn Badgley’s grumpy romantic murderer, who is at the center of the show. In Season 4, Joe (Badgley) goes across the pond to find Marianne (Tati Gabrielle). He pretends to be an English professor, which gets him into new trouble. Amy Leigh Hickman, Lukas Gage, Ed Speleers, and more are in the new cast. We can’t wait to see you again and say hello.

Part 1 of Season 4 of “You” comes out on February 9.

4. “Queen Charlotte”

Since the release date for Season 3 of “Bridgerton” is still unknown, fans will get their next taste of Shonda Rhimes and Julia Quinn’s world with “Queen Charlotte,” a prequel about the monarch with the same name. Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, and Hugh Sachs all play the same role in “Bridgerton” as they did before. India Amarteifio, Arsema Thomas, and Connie Jenkins-Greig will play young Charlotte, Danbury, and Violet, respectively. We don’t know much about the eight-part series, but we’re sure everyone will talk about it in no time…

5. “Never Have I Ever” Season 4

The last season of the teen rom-com by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fischer is coming up, and Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is now in her senior year. The question of her romantic future is less important than how Devi will continue to deal with her father’s (Sendhil Ramamurthy) death and her changing relationship with her mother (Nalini). Michael Cimino has been cast as a possible romantic match for Jaren Lewison’s Ben and Paxton (Darren Barnet), who graduated from high school (Poorna Jagannathan).

6. “The Crown” Season6

Listen, we know what’s going to happen, but since when has that stopped viewers who can’t get enough of the latest British monarchy from being excited about a new season? The first season made after Queen Elizabeth II’s death may or may not affect Peter Morgan’s royal drama, but it will be a big part of Season 6, just as her reign was a big part of Seasons 1–5. Morgan has said that “The Crown” won’t cover what’s happening with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Firm, but it’s still unclear when and how the series will end.

7. “Heartstopper” Season 2

In the second season of Alice Oseman’s happy teen drama, Charlie (Joe Locke), Nick (Kit Connor), and the rest of the gang deal with love, friendship, and their queer journeys. Season 1 was about the first two parts of Oseman’s webcomic and graphic novel, which has five elements called “Volumes” (and might not stick to adapting two per season). Season 2 adds Jack Barton, Nima Taleghani, and Leila Khan to the cast.

8. “Bridgerton” Season 3

The movie “Bridgerton” stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.

The third “Bridgerton” book by Julia Quinn is about the second brother Benedict (Luke Thompson). Still, the third season of the TV show will finally focus on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan). Since the beginning of the series, these two have been close friends, but they’ve never gone as far as they could have with their relationship. This is mostly because Pen is madly in love with him and Colin takes Pen for granted while openly pursuing other women. Romantic comedies like to have a “redemption arc,” so Season 3 will be enjoyable to watch to see how head writer Chris Van Dusen and his team will make viewers root for this couple, particularly Colin. Lady Whistledown is already a friend of his, which is strange.

9.  “Squid Game” Season 4, Part 2

Less is known about Season 2 of “Squid Game” than what is written in this blurb. Season 1 ended with the identity of the game master (?) and the man’s return in the suit. This means the game is still going on, and Gi-hun (Lee Jung-Jae) won’t stand for it. Though he might not make it, gi-hun is on a mission to find and destroy the Squid Game. He has information about the game master and what looks like a head of red hair.

10. “Manifest” Season 4, Part 2

Nothing gets to you like a sci-fi/mystery about a plane crash. Netflix has ordered the last 10 episodes of the ABC drama, which will pick up with the Stone family after the deaths of Grace (Athena Karkanis) and Eden (Paisley Herrera). The lifeboat is being closely watched, and Ben (Josh Dallas) can’t protect it from the government or what the rest of the world doesn’t know about Flight 828.
